Strings II and III combine once a week to rehearse orchestra music. Brockman Fine Arts Booster Club has purchased a full line of various sizes of violins, violas and cellos to accommodate individual students’ arm length. These instruments are offered on a rental basis, $20/year, to cover basic maintenance costs. Richland One has even provided a String Bass for our use this year! Richland County School District One has hired Amy Evers to teach two of our classes. She works with all of our students once a week. Brockman Fine Arts Booster Club has contracted with Mary Lee Taylor, Concertmaster of the SC Philharmonic Orchestra, to teach Strings II and Strings III once a week. Our music teacher, Libby Cross, assists both of these fine teachers. Five of our Brockman Orchestra students are participating in the USC Strings Project for additional orchestral opportunities. Strings Project is a wonderful extension to our orchestra program. Contact Mrs. Cross if you would like further information.
